Publishing InfoPath Forms in SharePoint Libraries

  • Michael P. Antonovich

In the last chapter, you saw how easily you can build InfoPath forms. When building those forms, the chapter focused primarily on using forms created and saved in a single location, even if that location was on your local computer or in a regular SharePoint document library. However, up until this point, unless you had a copy of InfoPath 2010 installed on your machine, you could not open and use that form. Furthermore, you really don’t want to send a copy of the form to everyone who needs it because, for example, making updates to the form would become difficult if everyone at your company had their own copy of the form. Rather, you should publish the form to a common location such as a network file share so that other people in your organization can access it.
