Abstract
Google Talk allows you to communicate instantly anywhere in the world by text or voice. Google Talk is Google’s instant messaging system for use on either fixed or mobile devices. Beginning in the 1960’s, Instant Messaging (IM) has changed significantly from its humble beginnings being used to notify other users when various computing resources were busy. Currently, Instant Messaging, in one of its many forms, serves as a valuable tool for business communication and a tool for friends to communicate. It is used in many online classrooms, news forums and social networking sites all over the world. There are many IM systems in the world today which work differently, rely on different technology and are built for specific purposes. An example of an instant messaging technology most people have used is a SMS message (text message) on a mobile phone. However, Google Talk allows you to chat, transfer files, send voice mail and even talk with others not using Google Talk.
