Abstract

What is a web browser? Is it a computer program used to access sites on the World Wide Web? Is it a program that interprets HTML coding so as to display formatted data? Well, it’s all of the above and more; a web browser (or simply browser) is an application/software program that retrieves, interprets, and renders HTML or another language, such as JavaScript, so that the user can view web pages easily. Some of the popular web browsers online are: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple’s Safari for Macintoshes. The act of locating and looking through these web pages is called web-browsing.
