Working with Files and Folders

Abstract

Using a computer is all about working with information, so in this chapter you’ll look at how Windows 7 stores and organizes it. You’ll learn how to browse the contents of storage devices—for example, hard disks—that are connected to your system, and how account folders and public folders are used to store data files such as documents, pictures, video, music, and so on. You’ll also explore how libraries can make organizing groups of related files easier, and how to use Windows 7’s search feature to find files and other kinds of information on your system.
