Abstract

While AppleScript is always great for fun jobs such as organizing your iTunes playlists or iPhoto albums, for many scripters it is a key tool for automating more serious tasks too. In this chapter, we will be looking at how AppleScript can be used to manipulate two important office application suites on Mac OS X: Apple’s iWork, a relative newcomer to the Mac scene, and the venerable Microsoft Office, which dates back to the days of System 7 and is still going strong today.
