Blender’s Video Sequence Editor (VSE) window type is a major functional component of Blender that allows nonlinear editing (NLE) of video strips into a finished product. Nonlinear editing is a fancy way of saying that you can jump around and don’t have to jog forward and backward through the film clip. In the old days of videotape and film editing, you spliced strips of media (film using a cutter, and videotape using a magnetized razor blade) together with tape. Blender transforms that workflow into the digital age but still uses “strips” as a metaphor for shots of video.
