Networked Games: Choosing the Right Option
When I first started to look at developing applications on the iPhone platform, it became clear to me that very few developers were taking advantage of the unique fact that every device is connected to every other device via the Internet. To me, this inherent connectivity meant one thing: multiplayer gaming. Moreover, the very nature of mobile devices means that they lend themselves perfectly to casual games, those appealing to users of any gaming experience that can repeatedly be picked up, played for a short time, and then put down again until next time. Under these principles, I cofounded Swipe Interactive and came to develop and release two multiplayer-based iPhone games, with many more in the pipeline.
