Abstract

Throughout this book I have referred to a number of core services that underpin the WebSphere Application Server operation, one of which is the Config Service. Essentially the Config Service is a dynamic interface into the configuration of the cell, its clusters, and each individual WAS instance. The configuration itself just consists of a set of XML files, many of which also have been referenced throughout this book. This chapter examines some of these XML files and looks at the key sections in the most important file, server.xml.
