Abstract

One of the main features that a desktop runtime should provide is a window API system to create native windows. AIR offers you a totally customizable way of generating native windows, giving total control over their look and feel. Developing with adobe AIR, you can create the following different window types:

  • Windows that match the classic Apple style when run on the Mac, or the classic Microsoft style when run on Windows

  • The skinnable chrome provided by the Flex SDk, which allows you to create custom window styles independent from the operating system where your application is run

  • Custom windows with vector and bitmap assets with full support for transparency and alpha blending
