Migrating to Flash CS4 and ActionScript 3.0

Over the years Flash has been transformed from a basic animation tool into a full-featured IDE (Integrated Development Environment) with the tools and components to tackle virtually any development. ActionScript has also evolved since its introduction with Flash as a simple scripting language with a very limited set of actions. Now it’s a robust, object-oriented programming language, which can be used to build complex games, applications, and web sites. In this chapter, I’ll discuss some of the key additions and improvements included in Flash CS4 and I’ll try to get you stubborn AS2’ers (I used to be one too) upgraded to ActionScript 3.0.
