Abstract

Chapters 5, 6, and 7 introduced you to Data Manipulation Language (DML), which is SQL’s data management terminology. In those chapters, you learned to manipulate the data stored in your database. DMZ’s sibling, Data Definition Language (DDL), manages the objects in a database—specifically, the tables, indexes, and relationships, as defined below.
