Using Jet SQL Aggregates and Clauses to Group and Summarize Data

If you work with databases on a regular basis, you’ll probably often run into the term aggregate. In regards to databases, an aggregate is simply a set or group of records. Hence, to aggregate data means to group or summarize it. You can use Jet SQL to aggregate in one of two ways:
  • by grouping data using a GROUP BY clause, or

  • by summarizing data using SQL aggregate functions.
