PL/SQL Coding Standards

  • Bulusu Lakshman

Abstract

Coding standards are part of any software application, and PL/SQL is no exception. These standards are generally devised before beginning the development phase of the software development life cycle. They serve as rules of thumb while coding, and when they are followed they allow standardized and efficient code to be developed. These standards are “tricks of the trade” that assert often ignored facts and provide solutions to certain technical problems, saving time and effort on the part of developers in addition to providing well-written, well-maintained, and efficient PL/SQL code.
