Abstract

Two types of views are available in SQL Server 2000: user-defined and information schema. Developers create user-defined views with the CREATE VIEW statement. Information schema views (which have been around since version 7) come with SQL Server 2000 and were created by members of the SQL Server development team. Both types of views are discussed in this chapter.
