Building an Application
The main purpose of this chapter is to show the SQL statements and ASP pages required to create a browser-based database application. I will create a real-world scenario by providing specifications to which the application must adhere. Then I will list the SQL statements that create the database and database objects that support the application. In the final section I will list the.asp files that create the application’s front-end. The application consists of nine tables, twenty-one stored procedures, four triggers, and twenty-nine.asp files, so there is plenty of sample code that shows exactly how the application is built.
