Introduction to Windows Forms
If you have ever programmed in Visual Basic, you are familiar with Windows Forms. In the Windows platform, a form is a window that interacts with users. Forms can receive input from users and show output in an interactive way. The nice thing about developing with Windows Forms is that you can drag and drop Windows controls to a form to develop graphical user interface (GUI) applications. In the Microsoft Visual Studio (VS) development environment, windows, dialog boxes, and Multiple Document Interface (MDI) windows are various types of forms you’ll find useful in developing your applications.
