What Every Access Programmer Needs to Know about SQL Server

  • Russell Sinclair

Since the early 1990s, Microsoft has been developing a relational database management system (RDBMS) called SQL Server. Microsoft first started working on SQL Server as part of a joint project with Sybase. After a fewyears, they decided to end their joint venture and continue development of the product on their own. Since then, Microsoft SQL Server has progressed to become one of the best selling RDBMSs on the market. It offers many features that make it an excellent database system for storing and managing data. Speed, ease of use, integration with other Microsoft products, and powerful management tools have all contributed to its success.
