Abstract

Increasingly ordinary businesses are adopting a web presence for sales and services to their customers. These businesses in the United States are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to make their physical bricks-and-mortar facilities accessible to people with disabilities. Many believe that the ADA also applies to the virtual world of the Internet as a “place of public accommodation”, and that thus web services and sales must also be accessible.
