In the previous chapter, I took you on a brief tour of the facilities available in the System.Xml namespace. Microsoft has been moving us toward XML for messaging, storage, and general formatting of sundry lumps of data for some years now, mainly through their MSXML COM libraries. With System.Xml they’ve taken a massive step beyond even this, not only implementing a fully DOM-compliant set of classes and methods in the System.Xml namespace, but also integrating XML itself with almost every aspect of application development using.NET.
