Every time I sit down to write a new book on Microsoft’s latest technology, I, like most other authors, usually begin by expounding its virtues, singing its praises, and generally saying how things couldn’t possibly ever get any better than this. Inevitably, though, we all grow far too familiar than is perhaps healthy with the technology in question and 2 to 3 months down the line start ranting about why on earth someone couldn’t have found a simpler way to do XYZ. Database access is one such area.
