Using SQL-DMO to Script an Entire Server

Abstract

In the event of a disaster, we prefer to have as many options to recover our data as possible. We may replicate all data off-site in real time using a mirrored storage area network (SAN) (but this can be expensive), using a third-party replication tool (see Table 9-1), or perhaps using log shipping (see Table 9-2). Of course, backups and transaction log dumps are taken frequently and shipped off-site. We also like to include sqldiag.exe in our plan to provide some extra, detailed information about our servers.
