Abstract

This is where it all begins. Learning a new programming language can be an arduous task, but luckily SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) is not too difficult. In this chapter, you’ll skim the surface and start to use SQL-DMO to create objects familiar to anyone using a database. You’ll also tweak those objects to behave in the way you want them to. We give you a gentle introduction to using SQL-DMO to manipulate Microsoft SQL Server objects and data, and a glimpse of the possibilities that exist within the SQL-DMO object library (which you’ll explore further in the chapters that follow).
