Introduction to .NET Remoting

  • Tom Barnaby

Honestly, I really tried to avoid writing this chapter. Here you are three chapters into the book and all of it so far has been “overview.” You may be wondering if we are ever going to see a “detail” chapter and I don’t blame you. Unfortunately, there is no practically way to dive into the details of implementing distributed applications using .NET Remoting without first describing some key terms and concepts from thirty thousand feet. Luckily, this technology is exciting and cool even in overview form. And in the next chapter we will shake hands with the devil (in the details).
