Abstract

We believe it fair to say that many Visual Basic programmers shied away from developing custom controls in the past. Because Visual Basic .NET provides a much better set of tools for creating custom controls, you might now find opportunities to increase your programming productivity by creating your own controls. By encapsulating methods and data within custom controls, you create reusable code that can reduce the development effort and improve the maintainability of your applications.
