Abstract

Templantes may not be widely used in most C++ programs, but the implementa tion of the Component Object Model (COM) and the Active Template Library (ATL) are based heavily on them. In this chapter I cover template classes thoroughly enough for you to get a good understanding of how they work internally as well as how to use them. Don’t let the syntax of templates scare you off because it may be a little weird looking. Just remember that everything else in C++ looked weird the first time you saw it. Okay, let’s get started.
