The COM Project

  • Jonathan Morrison

In Chapter 11 you learned how to create a simple Component Object Model (COM) component with the Active Template Library (ATL). This in turn taught you how to use the ATL framework to create COM components in C++. You will now expand this knowledge to create a more sophisticated COM component that mimics the functionality of the TrayMan.dll we created in Chapter 10. You will also learn some tips and tricks about how to create ATL/COM components so that they can be used more readily from Visual Basic.
