Abstract

Pitchers are important members of a baseball team even though they generally don’t hit the ball very well. But the fact that most pitchers aren’t good at bat doesn’t seem to bother anyone because pitchers aren’t expected to be good batters (even though all of the other players on the team are). All that pitchers are expected to do is strike out the batters on the other team.
