Abstract
In this chapter we discuss first of all how to set up the test environment for MySQL on a local computer. Since MySQL usually doesn’t run all by itself, but in combination with other programs, this chapter also discusses Apache, PHP, Perl, MyODBC, and phpMyAdmin. We consider installation under Windows and under Linux.
