Configuring JCA and Datasources

  • Meeraj Kunnumpurath

The Java Connector Architecture (JCA) is a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Application Programming Interface (API) for enabling J2EE applications to interface with external resource managers, such as databases, legacy mainframe systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and so on. JBossCX is a JCA implementation that comes with JBoss. Internally JBoss uses the JCA implementation for connecting to Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) databases.
