Abstract

The core JBoss server doesn’t come with a built-in web container. However, JBoss does provide an MBean that can be used for embedding a web container within the JBoss process. You can download the JBoss installation with either an embedded Tomcat or Jetty web server. In this chapter, you’ll look at configuring Jetty with JBoss. You’ll also look at how to run the JBoss/Jetty combination with Internet Information Services (IIS) and Apache front-end web servers. In fact, Jetty has a fully optimized web server suitable for the production environment. Hence, unless you have compelling reasons, you don’t need to use a front-end web server with Jetty.
