Creating Indexes

  • Robin Dewson

Now that we have created the tables, it would be possible to stop at this point and just work with our data from here. However, this would not be one of our better decisions. As soon as any table contained a reasonable amount of information, and we wished to find one particular record, it would take a fair amount of time to locate it. Not really a good idea for performance and our users would soon get annoyed with how slow it is to work with our data. Think of it as a large filing cabinet, in which we had to find one piece of paper, with no help.
