Abstract

AutoCAD allows users to perform many operations on arbitrary sets of entities. The user builds these sets of entities either on an as-needed basis as a selection set or more permanently as a group. Selection sets (also referred to as PickSets) are transient and are destroyed when AutoCAD closes a drawing. Groups, on the other hand, are stored persistently in the drawing file.
