Using SQL*Plus and iSQL*Plus

  • Sam R. Alapati

Abstract

You can connect to and work with the Oracle9i database in many ways. Chances are, though, that you’ll spend a lot of time using the Oracle SQL*Plus interface and a set of commands known as SQL*Plus commands. SQL*Plus is the Oracle user interface for interacting with a database. You can perform all database administration tasks, including starting and stopping the instance, through this single interface. Thus, the importance of this utility has grown even further in the Oracle9i version.
