Loading and Transforming Data

One of your most common tasks as a DBA is loading data from external sources. Although you commonly do this when you first populate a database, you’re called upon frequently to load data into various tables. Traditionally, the main tool used has been the Oracle-provided SQL*Loader utility, which you can use to load data from flat files into the Oracle database tables. This chapter details the use of SQL*Loader to load data.
