Abstract

Almost since the beginning of this book, you have read that this chapter was on the horizon. First, in Chapter 2, as I offered an answer to the question “What is .NET?” one of the answers offered was “object orientation,” which included a reference to this chapter. Then again, in Chapter 4, as I discussed object orientation as one of the .NET retraining prerequisites, I included a reference to this chapter. In Chapter 6, when I introduced the topic of referencing objects, I included yet another reference to this chapter.
