Abstract

It is said that to err is human, and nowhere is that more the case than in data entry. Every application must have a way of validating input and state. Validating enterprise objects is more simple than you might expect, especially if you are used to doing manual validation. In this chapter we will discuss validation WebObjects style, some of the limitations and workarounds, and advanced techniques. Finally, we will describe a set of classes in the PracticalUtilities framework that provides a complete solution to most of the issues described.
