Managing the Object Graph

Abstract

One thing that separates the Enterprise Object frameworks (EOF) from many other object persistence mechanisms is that EOF maintains the relationships between Java enterprise objects, even when using inheritance. With EOF, there is no need to think in terms of rows in an SQL result set or to concern yourself with matching and setting primary and foreign keys. However, it does introduce the need to be aware of some object graph concepts and to follow some simple rules.
