Abstract
In this chapter, you’ll learn about the very first steps that you should take when starting a database design project. Gathering preliminary information for a new database project—such as deciding what is going to be stored in it —is one of the most important tasks, though constraints on time and resources in the real world usually mean that the process isn’t carried out as thoroughly as it should be.
