Managing Workflow with XML Web Services

  • Matthew MacDonald

Over the last seven chapters, you’ve learned the basics of XML, XML Schema, and XSLT. You’ve also learned the ways that the Office 2003 applications can use these XML standards to import, export, and transform data. On their own, these techniques are useful, but often awkward. They force the Office user to carry out certain repetitive tasks, like exporting and importing data. They also won’t solve the problem of how to seamlessly route data between Office applications and business processes.
