The Three-Level Model and Distributed Services

  • J. Jeffrey Hanson

Abstract

Distributed management applications are composed of components that cooperate together across a network to publish and consume management functions. The JMX distributed services level exposes components in an effort to provide an environment and framework for exposing JMX agents, resources, and services to remote clients. The distributed services level, combined with the agent level and instrumentation level, provides an inclusive platform for implementing complete, robust management applications and services.
