Abstract

In this chapter we discuss first of all how to set up the test environment for MySQL on a local computer. Since MySQL usually doesn’t run all by itself, but in combination with other programs, this chapter also discusses Apache, PHP, Perl, Connector/ODBC, and phpMyAdmin. We consider installation under Windows and under Linux.
