The plot so far: You’ve looked in depth at how you can extract data in various formats, irrespective of the way the data is actually stored—be it in a relational database, an XML document, or almost any other type of persisted data. You also built applications that extract and display data in various types of clients, including both down-level clients and a range of rich clients. Then, in the previous chapter, you saw some of the issues involved in updating the original data and how you can do this with a couple of different types of down-level client.
