Improving Apache’s Performance

Getting the best possible performance from a Web server is a key concern for many administrators. Although a Web server may be capable of handling sporadic requests, its ability to handle larger loads is another matter. Apache has a good reputation for handling heavy load conditions well, but it can’t optimize itself automatically. Some thought on your part is required if you want to get the best out of your server.
