Abstract
Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) has become a major value proposition in the Web development industry. Indeed, 2006 was often called the “year of Ajax” because no matter where you turned, it seemed every software vendor was pushing their Ajax toolkit, Ajax sessions at conferences were filled to the rafters, and everybody wanted to use it on their web site. But Ajax has been around a lot longer than this—it’s just that it seemed to hit critical mass in that year.
