Abstract
In general, metadata means data that describes data. For example, in photography, we store our photographs as RAW or JPG files. That is the data. But we also store the following information: which camera we used to take the photographs, the aperture and ISO settings of the camera, the resolution of each photograph, where it was taken, when it was taken, and a few words describing the content of the photo. That is all metadata.
