Abstract

In many ways, AJAX is synonymous with a Web 2.0 application. The term AJAX, originally an acronym standing for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, was coined by Jesse James Garrett in 2005, although the web browser functionality to enable the interactions had been around for many years earlier.
