Abstract

Anyone who has spent more than an hour in Marketing 101 knows that customer retention is far less expensive than customer acquisition. Over time, the cost of maintaining profitable relationships with an existing customer base is far less than the buckets of dollars poured into the marketing cannon aimed at reining in new customers. In fact, the difference runs anywhere from three to ten times, depending on the study you read.
