Summary

FrontPage 2003 is one of the most flexible web editors on today’s market (with one user license coming as part and parcel of your SBS 2003 Premium Edition purchase), and it’s especially useful if you need to customize your WSS sites. Always remember that the help files included with FrontPage 2003 are as good as many books on the subject, going into the details of the most common web development tasks, as well as covering many of the underlying component configurations required for extremely complicated, functionally rich sites.

To learn FrontPage 2003 completely is not a trivial job. Many consultants and web developers specialize in providing development services that rely solely on FrontPage 2003 for their daily bread. If you need to do complicated development but don’t have the time to learn or the local expertise to work on your site, there’s no need to fret. There are many professionals available through the Microsoft Partner program who can help you (obviously at a cost). One strategy successfully employed by many small businesses is to contract a web designer to create the initial site and then pass over the content for your own people to manage in the future. In this case, you would add updates to the press releases, the What’s New section, and any new services yourself, simply adding to the existing content.
