Small Business Computing
This chapter has covered the basics of making good use of an IT system in your small business, looking primarily at how the technologies included in SBS 2003 can be used to grow and manage your business, and where appropriate, transition it into something new and competitive. You’ve seen the importance of understanding your fundamental business processes and how those processes must be accurately mapped to the IT capabilities to make sure you are streamlining your business by introducing technology, rather than adding a burden.
The rest of this book is more focused on introducing the technology you have identified in this chapter. However, as you proceed with your SBS 2003 installation and configuration, you must always question your use of technology functions to make sure they are justified and are increasing your performance.
