Networking Open Enterprise Server

In this chapter, you learned how to configure generic network services on OES. The configuration of IP addresses, name services, and DHCP was also covered. With regard to these subjects, some important differences exist between OES - NetWare and OES - Linux. In OES - NetWare, most elements are perfectly integrated into eDirectory. On OES - Linux, however, the oldfashioned Linux method is used, meaning some text configuration files need to be created, but the advantage here is that these files can be configured from the YaST configuration utility.

The next chapter will teach you about how to set up printing in an OES environment.
